Dorgali territory


With its 225 square kilometers of territory, Dorgali is among the largest municipalities in Sardinia with a variety and beauty of landscape that represents almost a microcosm in which it is possible to find all the typical peculiarities of the Island. This is precisely why we locals like to say that "Sardinia is here."

Sites of interest

The surrounding area offers many archaeological sites of the pre-Nuragic and Nuragic era, such as Serra Orrios, the Giants’ GraveDomus de Janas (houses of the fairies) and dolmens from the Neolithic period. Close to our holiday farm there are two very interesting caves, Ispinigoli (2km) and Bue Marino (8km), named after the monk seal, which used to breed inside the cave until the early 60s. Lovers of free climbing, bird watching, diving, fishing and canoeing will all find their own little piece of paradise here. Experienced guides can take you on jeep excursions to visit the Gola di Gorroppu, one of the deepest canyons in Europe, the Nuragic village Tiscali and the Supramonte, while choosing the best route for you.

2 km from us is the remarkable museum-park S’AbbaFrisca, where you can admire over 1000 items of the historic farm culture in Sardinia.

Just 4 km away you can a find riding stable, where reliable instructors will take you for a horse ride along the river or the beach, following personalised itineraries according to your requirements and riding experience.

Beaches

There are two beautiful beaches (CalaOsalla and CalaCartoe) 6 km away, while 8 km down the road you will find Cala Gonone, which is right on the coast and part of Dorgali. At Cala Gonone harbour you can rent inflatable boats or get on one of the larger boats that can take you to the different beaches along the gulf, which cannot be reached from the land. We also highly recommend you pay the brand new aquarium a visit. Its educational itineraries and special tanks where you can even stroke the animals will offer you an amazing experience you won’t forget!
